Title: VP, Correspondent Banking / Global Payments

Imperium Commodity Search is working with a multinational non-banking financial institution looking to grow their Singapore based cross border global payments team through the addition of a Correspondent Banking Executive to assist in the development of correspondent banking relationships with banks and international payment counterparties in the region.
Our client has experienced strong and sustained growth over the last few years in the space and has developed relationships with multiple banks and end users/NGO’s for their business of transactional payments and support services to charities, agencies, NGO’s and governments in the developing world.
Responsibilities:
·Build and maintain relations across Asia Pacific with correspondent banks, identifying potential partners throughout the region
·Actively audit the settlement solutions offered by the firm and identify areas of efficiency improvements, working with senior management to look at supplier relationships to ensure smooth and timely cross-border / international settlements
·Notify global payment team members of all changes in regulations and developments in market movements concerning international payments across correspondent banking and cross border settlements
·Analyzing both new and current counterparties and taking ownership of the development of new supplier relationships in line with the growth ambitions and target markets of the firm
·Ensure counterparties adhere to the firms strict AML/KYC policies and are inline with the compliance structure of the global payments / cross border team
·Work with the operations/middle office team on interbank settlement across SWIFT and proprietary payments software to ensure timely and accurate settlements
Experience:
·Worked in correspondent banking in a related position, with prior experience with Nostro/Vostro accounts
·Solid understanding of FX (foreign exchange)
·Sales/Commercial acumen with a proven track record of relationship management/client and counterparty onboarding
·Sound understanding of interbank structures (SWIFT, API’s, etc.)
·Experience in a correspondent banking environment highly desirable
·Good knowledge of compliance guidelines including AML/ KYC (anti-money laundering / know your client/customer)
·Proficiency in negotiating deals with excellent interpersonal skills
·Travel as required by the business to international offices and clients premises across the APAC / Singapore region
