About the Opportunity
Imperium Commodity Search is exclusively retained on behalf of a highly successful and rapidly expanding global metals merchant seeking to appoint a Vice President – Copper Cathode Trading.
This appointment represents a unique opportunity to join an established and profitable copper cathode business with significant growth ambitions across North and Latin America. The successful individual will inherit a substantial existing platform, develop strategic producer and consumer relationships, and play a central role in the future leadership of the business.
Unlike many senior trading appointments, this role offers a clearly defined pathway into executive leadership through a structured succession plan.
The Role
Reporting into senior executive leadership, the Vice President will work closely with the current head of the copper business, gaining exposure to every aspect of the operation before assuming increasing commercial responsibility over time.
The successful candidate will be responsible for helping drive the next phase of growth while preparing to assume broader leadership responsibilities within the division.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and strengthen relationships with major copper producers and strategic supply partners.
• Expand existing customer relationships across North and Latin America.
• Support the continued growth of an established physical copper cathode trading business.
• Progressively assume responsibility for commercial performance, profitability and risk management.
• Contribute to pricing, hedging and inventory management strategies.
• Collaborate across the wider metals platform to maximise commercial opportunities.
Candidate Profile
• Experience within physical copper cathode trading or related non-ferrous metals markets.
• Strong understanding of LME and COMEX pricing structures.
• Proven ability to build and maintain commercial relationships.
• Demonstrable commercial acumen and a track record of profitable growth.
• Ambition and capability to develop into a senior executive leadership role.
