Job Title: Steel / Ferrous Metal Trader
Contract type: Permanent
Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Salary: 50-90,000USD + bonus
Imperium Commodity Search is proud to be working with a metal trading business in Dubai looking to grow out their front office team after successful and structured growth over the last 3 years. To facilitate the next phase of their growth in the region, they are seeking an experienced ferrous metals / steel trader to join their team.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Trade ferrous metals/steel products on a back to back basis across the Middle East, North Africa and Indian regions
- Develop and maintain relationships with mills and producers/suppliers of steel products whilst building out a customer list/trading book
- Stay up to date on market movements/analysis to make the most of trading opportunities in the steel markets
- Meet with and develop relations with construction firms, oil and gas companies and auto/vehicle producers and stockists for the sale fo steel products (flats, longs, tubes etc.) in the region (India, Middle East, North Africa)
- Actively promote the companies services and product offering across steel, ferrous metals, iron ore, non-ferrous and base metals, capitalising on opportunities to upsell product mix
- Work closely with senior management on new ventures and trading regions/products to maximise PnL book
- Assist logistics/operations team internally on ensuring smooth traffic of goods/steel products through chartering and logistics
Requirements:
- 5-10 years experience in a steel sales/trading position in the Middle East or Africa
- Ideally experienced with both larger corporates and small agile trading firms
- Good knowledge of the technical aspects of steel product and their applications
- Strong sales/trading ability/rapport building
- True desire to grow a steel trading desk in an established trading house
- Located in the Middle East/Dubai or able to relocate
