Title: Specialty Fertilizer Trader

Imperium Commodity Search is working with a growing International Fertilizer company looking for a specialty fertilizer trader to join the team in Zug, Switzerland – having being in operation for over seven years they recently enjoyed their best financial year to date in 2020 and are looking to capitalize on their strong start to this year too.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the sourcing and sales of specialty fertilizer products (SOP, T-MAP, T-DAP, CN, PN, MKP, UP, MgS, MgN, ZnS, Kieserite etc.) and build a strong network in Latin American, African and European markets
  • Build on the company’s existing strong regional business throughout Europe and Africa, expanding the current product portfolio where possible
  • Maintain Good understanding of technical aspects of fertilizer products and their applications with the ability to match these to clients needs
  • Establish long-term client relationships, advise on and identify new business opportunities (new markets, product development needs etc.) in key sourcing origins and sales destinations
  • Work closely and coordinate with the logistics and finance and accounting teams
  • Actively promote the firms products/fertilizer solutions to clients/farms and agro producers across target destinations
  • Work closely with internal logistics and operations teams to facilitate smooth and timely trading routes
  • Reports into the Director of Trading

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience trading specialty fertilizer products into LATAM, Africa and / or Europe, ideally with existing & transferable book
  • Experience trading SOP, T-MAP, T-DAP, CN, PN, MKP, UP, MgS, MgN, ZnS, and Kieserite is preferred, experience trading water-soluble, foliar, NPKs etc. could also be considered
  • Strong Relationship Management / Business Development skills with excellent knowledge of the specialty fertilizer buyers and producers
  • The ideal candidate will have experience and an established network for sourcing specialty products from an established origin source as well as a knowledge of export / logistics processes for container shipments
  • Experience dealing with OTC products / hedging is a bonus
  • Candidate must be fluent in English and ideally in Spanish (written & spoken). Additional language skills would be an plus
  • Located in Zug, Switzerland or happy to relocate to the area – candidate must hold valid Swiss permit or EU citizenship without need of sponsorship
