Job Title: Soft Commodity Trader (Nuts, Beans, Pulses, Seeds, Grain, Fruit, Foodstuffs)
Salary: Negotiable
Contract type: Permanent
Location: Poland

Imperium Commodity Search is working with a family owned and operated supplier of agricultural products that are looking to further expand their trading desk. Our client is active in the market globally, predominantly within seeds, grain, pulses, fruits and nuts. With 3 offices in Europe and warehousing facilities in key supply locations worldwide creating a strong supply chain to manage their clients’ requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with producers/suppliers in the European market across necessary products
  • Develop relationships with end users, processors, and buyers of agricultural products (grain, pulses, beans, nuts, dried fruit)
  • Utilise negotiating abilities to agree favourable terms/pricing
  • Remain up to date with market analysis, capitalising on trading opportunities where possible
  • Work closely with the operations and logistics team to ensure smooth transaction and timely movement of goods
  • Actively pursue new business to satisfy PnL responsibility

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience of trading any agricultural or soft commodity (corn, wheat, soybean, cotton, coffee) products
  • Strong network of contacts across Europe
  • Export trading experience across agricultural/soft commodity (grain, cocoa, pulses, sugar) products important
  • Knowledge of logistics and operations
  • Outstanding relationship building skills
  • Experience in running a book and demonstrable PnL record
  • Good understanding of the agricultural/soft commodity markets and ability to provide analysis of market drivers
  • Fluent in English (Other languages may be beneficial)
