S&P Shipbroker (Tankers) – Dubai

Title: Sale and Purchase Shipbroker (Tanker Business)
Salary: region of 120,000 to 190,000 USD (equiv) + direct % payout
Location: Dubai, UAE

Imperium Commodity Search is confidentially retained by a rapidly expanding trading and brokerage business, seeking to expand their tanker S&P capability in their established Dubai office.  With a true focus on internal progression, no external management hires and a clear route to build a team, this opportunity suits an experienced S&P broker who feels limited progression with their current shop/shipbrokerage.

As well as shipbrokerage business, our client also trades in the same markets and has an excellent network and database of transactions, allowing swift growth and build out of sale and purchase business in the wet/tanker markets.  Alongside traditional S&P business, our client also has access to a large network of investors and financiers for realising acquisition plans and refinancing of existing fleets.

If you are currently managing a book of sale and purchase business in the tanker/wet space, and would be enticed by the opportunity to join a firm with a clear progression path and straightforward/rewarding payout system, we would love to hear from you.

You will be:

• Establishing a network of counterparites in the tanker/wet freight market, for the sale and purchase of vessels
• Acting as an intermediary between buyers and sellers of tanker vessels from the beginning to end of the process
• Analysing data related to depreciation, financing and viability of ship/tanker acquisitions and sales
• Keeping up to date on industry events, news and pressures to ensure on-the-pulse knowledge
• Working with internal financing/credit teams and external financiers/investors to bespoke financial deals on sale and purchase of tanker vessels
• Liaising with senior management on the wider expansion of the S&P tanker desk

We would love to speak to you if you have:

• 3+ years’ experience in the tanker markets, in a sale and purchase shipbrokerage position
• An excellent network of shipowners, counterparties and trading houses
• Excellent commercial accumen and driven in business development
• Fluency in English (other languages beneficial but not required)
• An existing portfolio of customers/contacts in the tanker space
• The ability to live/work in Dubai
