Title: Senior Rice Trader
Contract type: Permanent
Location: Singapore
Salary – 80-120,000SGD
Imperium Commodity Search is working with an international agricultural trading house looking to expand their trading team in Singapore through the addition of an experienced Rice trader.
Responsibilities:
- Source & trade rice across APAC and the Middle East
- Work with producers and wholesalers to establish strong relationships across back to back rice trade
- P&L responsible with a global rice trading book across both rice suppliers and end users/producers
- Work with the middle office to ensure smooth logistics and trade processing, ensuring that documentation and contracts are raised in a suitable time frame
- Provide market research/analysis to internal trading team globally to ensure the desk is up to date with current events/risks to the business
- Capitalise on opportunities to increase PnL across the desk
- Analyse the markets to identify trading opportunities across the Rice portfolio
- Ensure smooth operations of the trade, working with chartering and logistics on all operational matters
Experience:
- 12 years’ experience in rice trading with a global agricultural trading house
- Existing relationships in global rice trading
- Educated to a degree level
- Fluency in English and one additional language is a benefit
- Chartering/Logistics experience
