Job Title: Senior Power trader

Salary: 80,000 Euros – 120,000 Euros

Contract type: Permanent

Location: Ireland OR London

Amazing opportunity has risen in one of the UK’s most respected power trading firms, mainly focused on the EEX and TTF exchanges. With the head office located in Ireland we are currently in search of a senior power / Gas trader. With a focus on trading at the front end of the curve with a proportion of asset backed trading.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for overseeing the organisations power and gas trading across the European markets especially EEX (European Energy Exchange) and TTF (Title Transfer Facility).
• Trading UK and European power in line with company strategy with daily VAR limits.
• Understand market trends with cooperation from Analysis team to further the efficiency of trades concluded
• Strong analysis of emerging and relevant markets to develop trading strategies maximising profitability.
• Working in tandem with various departments to further develop the asset backed trading desk.

Experience

• 5-8 Years’ experience within a utilities or trade house trading power or gas on European exchange.
• Sound understanding in trading front end of curve and asset backed trading strategies.
• Strong Leadership skills with the ability to highly motivate and analyse the efficiency of the desk.
• Be able to implement trading strategies throughout the business utilising resources at hand.
• Exceptional understanding of market risk management, hedging strategies and analytical skills.
