Title: Senior Grain Trader (Black Sea)

Imperium Commodity Search are working with a leading global agribusiness headquartered in the US, currently looking for experienced traders with existing portfolios in the Black Sea Grains space to join their growing team in Ukraine – the ideal candidate will have strong experience & a transferable network on both buy & sell side for grains, cereals and other feed ingredients.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for physical trading of feed & food products (grain, cereals, oilseeds, feedstuffs etc.) primarily across Black Sea / CIS markets.
  • Developing a profitable book while delivering strategy to establish sourcing grains, pulses and oilseeds
  • Liaising closely with the farm buyers and providing support and information as necessary to allow them to deliver their targets
  • Work closely with each member of the operations / logistics teams to ensure smooth execution of the trade from start to finish

  • Developing new relationships with suppliers and customers to increase market exposure in domicile and wider international markets
  • Analyse current market trends and perform market research to introduce innovative marketing techniques to explore new markets for trade
  • Reporting to the Country Head

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, International Relations, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in physical trading of grains across Black Sea / CIS region is a prerequisite, any additional markets / networks are a bonus.
  • Familiar with market fundamentals, currency fluctuations and trading futures contracts
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Proven track record of increasing their book of business
  • Team-player, dynamic, flexible, hardworking, and eager to go the extra mile.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • IT savvy and excellent command of MS Office suite: Excel, Word, Outlook and MS Teams.
  • Ideally fluent in English, Russian & Ukrainian, further European languages are an advantage.
  • Located in Kyiv, Ukraine or willing to relocate – must hold full right to work without sponsorship, client can also consider remote locations within Ukraine
