Title: Senior Gasoline and Diesel Trader (Middle East)

Salary: negotiable (region of 120-180,000GBP base + bonus)

Imperium Commodity Search is retained by an international oil & energy trading house covering both the physical and paper markets in a number of key and growing energy asset classes. With a growing team and exposure in a number of asset classes, a new contract for supply of diesel and gasoline into a key Asian geography has presented an opportunity for an experienced trader in the space to manage these new flows whilst building out a wider blending, supply and trading desk in Arab Gulf Gasoline and Diesel markets.
With a talented team and a long history of sustained and organic growth, our client is a small-mid sized firm that punches well above its weight. With a number of critical hires taking place presently, this is a rich vein of progress where the opportunity grows with maturity of the desk. Managing physical flows and blending in Fujairah, you will be spearheading the growth of this products desk whilst ensuring stringent, timely and profitable supply to this new long term contract that is in place.
Responsibilities:
- Mantain relationships with refineries and blenders for the supply of Gasoline and Diesel distillates out of the Middle East/Fujairah
- Ensure timely and consistent flows of product into end user/customer in Asia
- Build out new supply routes and customer base for Diesel and Gasoline trading
- Keep up to date with market movements, analysis and pricing to ensure competitive and profitable trading performance
- Actively develop new business with counterparties in the Diesel and Gasoline space to increase trading flows in the Middle East and Asian region
- Promote the firms abilities to supply and trade in the Middle Distillates space, capiptalising on opportunity across the market
- Work with internal business development teams on new business ventures and new relationships
- Liaise with internal operations and logistics teams to ensure smooth, timely and accurate trades
Experience:
- 7+ years’ experience in the oil trading markets with a specific exposure to Gasoline and Diesel
- Excellent knowledge of the trading geographies around the Middle East and Asia
- Experience selling into Pakistan is preferred
- Fluent in English (additional languages beneficial but not required)
- Good understanding of market analysis and pricing around the products, distillates, gasoline and diesel space
- Experience in working with operations and logistics within Gasoline and Diesel
- Excellent understanding of blending Gasoline and Diesel
- Proven ability to manage a profitable physical trade book in distillates
- Located in Dubai, UAE or London, UK (or able to relocate)
