Title: Scrap Copper Trader
Contract type: Permanent
Location: London/ Zurich
Salary: Based on experience/ portfolio
Imperium Commodity Search is now working with a global trading company specialising in the trade of non-ferrous metals across primary/ secondary and scrap materials. They are currently looking for a seasoned Copper Scrap trader to be based in London or Zurich
Responsibilities:
- Trade physical Copper scrap on a back to back basis while managing your own PnL
- Develop business with scrap suppliers and customers within the European markets to increase trading activity across Copper products
- Utilize knowledge of the non-ferrous scrap market to detect any opportunities to benefit trading book
- Negotiate the best deals on both the sourcing and sales side to deliver the highest margin on copper scrap
- Coordinate with logistics and storage departments to deliver quality product when required
- Offer technical advice and market intelligence across non-ferrous scrap products
Experience/ Requirements:
- More than 4 years physical scrap trading experience across Copper
- Own portfolio of business within Copper Scrap
- Excellent knowledge of non-ferrous scrap metals, with most experience based around copper
- Able to travel around Europe to meet suppliers/ customers, attend conferences and other industry relevant events
- Must be able to speak English fluently (German beneficial if located in Zurich)
