Imperium Commodity Search is proud to be working closely with an industry-leading multinational brokerage in success-based growth mode after impressive financial performance over the past 5 years on their risk management brokerage offering. To facilitate the next phase of growth, they are looking to speak with biofuels & renewables brokers and brokerage teams on setting up and growing a desk internally. This opportunity suits those working in FCMs, IBs or Risk sales desks within a bank who are looking for increased upsell opportunity and an environment that facilitates the growth of revenue/commissions with backing across financials and resources.
Our client is well established across market advisory, analysis, risk management advisory and futures/options execution and clearing services across a range of products. This enables them to offer an increased range of services and financing to clients and books of business in the arena to maximise revenue and better service their clients.
A portfolio of business in the renewables risk management/FCM/IB or brokerage space is required for this position, however rather than just ‘plug and play’, our client is looking for teams that have the ability to build something bigger, offer increased services, clearing, execution and advisory/risk management offerings to clients to grow and expand the book/revenue and resulting commissions. This is a platform ideal for making a strong book even stronger, and make good commission cheques great ones.

Responsibilities:
- Support clients across the renewables space (trading houses, producers etc.) on risk management advisory services
- Gather, create and distribute market analysis, reports and advisory material to client base, offering market commentary and risk management advisory services
- Work closely with clients/management on understanding the detailed position of the client in question, offering advisory and risk management services in renewables
- Upsell clients onto managed futures execution and clearing platform
- Cross-sell additional products from the company, including FX, logistics, freight and fuel risk management/execution services
- Offer full service voice/electronic execution services for listed and OTC futures products to client base
- Identify revenue generation opportunities with existing client base and build out a full service risk management solution for renewables clients
- Show the best of the company at all times, prioritising a client-centric approach to risk management services, advisory and execution
Experience:
- 5+ years experience in 1-2 shops managing a book of clients in the renewables space
- Risk management-led brokerage experience and offering
- Experience in writing and distributing market commentary and reports to corporate clients in the renewables space
- Excellent Listed/OTC execution understanding/experience
- Customer-focused, able to travel and build rapport easily
- A transferable book of clients in the renewable energy space across risk management, advisory and execution services
- Located in the US (offices across the US. Ideal locations Chicago, Kansas City, Houston, New York, Minneapolis)
