Imperium Commodity Search is retained by a global price forecasting and risk management business offering services to the international food production, processing and distribution markets. Working with clients across a number of soft commodity and food products, our client assists those in the food markets, at all stages, to anticipate and respond to price movements. As part of their rapid growth, they are seeking an experienced pricing/forecasting analyst with experience in a key grains, ags or foods asset class to support research on pricing, commodity trends and forecasting.
Ideally coming from a pricing/research house or hedging/risk management background, you will be forecasting price movements across a number of key soft commodity and food markets for clients across the space. You will be comfortable with technical analysis tools and have experience in analysing supply and demand curves to provide market insight in the sector. Our client is keen to fully train and coach the right individual, so you will have support from an experienced global team on learning and mastering the niche position they hold in the market for price forecasting and advisory services to their clients.

Responsibilities:
- Develop through coaching into an expert on the firms price forecasting product and methodology
- Manage forecasting and price curves across key soft commodity, food and ingredient markets and ensure data is accurate and up to date
- Devise consumer friendly content and reports from technical analysis of price curves across the soft commodity space
- Work with sales and business development teams, joining calls and board level pitches to demonstrate the forecasting product and assist in the onboarding process
- Strive to constantly improve the forecasting process to deliver accuracy and market leading results on price forecasting and risk management in the food and ingredients markets
- Keep up to date with market events, movements and supply & demand issues to ensure rapid response to changes in the soft commodity markets
- Work with international teams (primarily in Europe) to deliver a dynamic and market leading product to customers across food production, processors, traders and end users
Experience:
- Degree educated in a relevant field (Economics, Finance, Quant, Maths, Commodities etc.)
- Technical analysis qualifications or certifications preferred
- Fluent in English (written and verbal) with excellent communication skills
- Excellent understanding of commodity pricing and movements, as well as a thorough knowledge of the impacts on future pricing and forecasting across geopolitical, supply and demand and macro events
- Good presentation skills
- Experienced in writing and producing reports off the back of technical analysis work in the commodities space
- Previous working experience in a commodity trading house, research house or pricing agency (physical or futures) in a technical analysis, pricing or fundamental analysis position
