Title: Pig Iron Sourcing Manager (Europe/Middle East)
Contract type: Permanent
Location: Europe, Middle East or Africa (Can be home-based)
Salary – Negotiable
Imperium Commodity Search is working with a fast-growing, diversified and very entrepreneurial physical trading house with excellent relationships in the Far East for the sale/remelting of pig iron and related steelmaking by-products/offtake. The firm is looking to increase its quantities on this to circa 15000MT of Pig Iron per month and is in search of a seasoned steelmaking raw materials/by-product trader or sourcing agent who maintains strong relationships with steel mills/smelters globally. There is scope to grow with the firm and look at new trading lines/products as the firm has excess trading scope through enhanced credit lines.

Responsibilities:
- Work with existing sales/trader with relationships on the sales side to ensure a smooth end to end / back to back trade process
- Manage relationships with steel mills/producers in your region for the purchase of Pig Iron / By-products
- Negotiate supply agreements with steel producers and ensure quality/cost metrics are adhered to
- Meet and generate relationships with mills to ensure the correct quantity of product can be sourced on a monthly basis
- Increase quantities as needed from relationships on the sales side
- Look into new ventures/opportunities for the back to back trading of other steel by-products / raw materials (clinker, gypsum, fly ash, slag etc.)
- Work closely with the Managing Director on the growth of the trading desk
Experience:
- 2+ years experience in the sourcing, purchasing or origination of pig iron / related steel byproduct
- Relationships with mill owners/sales managers with a network to utilise on the purchase of pig iron
- Sales relationships beneficial but not required
- Active and sales-focused approach with the ability to build rapport with senior management at suppliers
- Strong understanding of the global scrap / raw materials market
- Fluent in English
