Salary – 60-100,000GBP base + strong revenue split/share

Imperium Commodity Search is working with a fast-growing, diversified and very entrepreneurial physical trading house looking to utilise a strong network of finance lines/credit to establish a primary / refined base metals desk.  The firm is currently well established in the scrap markets and has supply agreements globally, however, are looking to bring in a senior base metals trader to assist in the growth of a new desk working closely with the Managing Director on the wider growth of the organisation.  Our client is looking for somebody who has the business/desire to grow a large scale back to back trading desk and enjoy the rewards/revenue share & splits that come with it.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Managing Director on the growth of the physical trading desk and utilisation of credit lines that the firm has access to
• Establish relationships with base metal (tin, copper, nickel, zinc, aluminium etc.) market participants globally
• Build relationships with non-ferrous metal suppliers (copper, aluminium, nickel, zinc, tin, lead etc.) for the sourcing of base metals and negotiate competitive supply agreements
• Maintain relationships with customers/clients for the sale of base metal products
• Work closely with operations, shipbrokers and charterers to ensure a smooth back to back/end to end trading process
• Identify new potential markets for the firm to go into, conducting market analysis to identify potential trades/trade routes

Experience:

• 5+ years experience in a physical base metals trading house
• A portable network of clients, suppliers and customers in the base metals space
• Strong understanding of the global metal trading landscape
• Good knowledge of shipping/logistics in metal trading
• Ability to travel/meet with clients to build new trading relationships
• Experience working in a trading house with responsibility for own desk, relationships and book
• Demonstrable track record of building physical metal trading books and managing a client base globally
