Job Title: Physical Nuts Trader/Broker
Contract type: Permanent
Location: Abidjan, Ivory Coast
Salary: Negotiable
Imperium Commodity Search is working with a nuts & soft commodity trading house in Europe seeking to add a junior trader/physical broker to their team in the Ivory Coast. The position is part of a wider growth of their nuts trading business and requires a French speaker with some experience in the international trading/export of nuts across cashews, brazil nuts, peanuts, pecans, almonds or hazelnuts.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Sales of edible nuts (primarily cashews) to food processors, traders, end users etc.
- Actively build a profitable nut trading desk, building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and customers of cashews and other edible nuts
- Keep up to date with market movements, pricing and S&D curves to capitalise on nut trading opportunities
- Work with local operations/logistics teams on smooth trade flow of edible nuts
Requirements:
- 1-3 years experience in a nuts/soft commodity trading position
- Good understanding of local nut production/suppliers, particularly cashew nuts
- Sales/business development experience and goal driven
- Fluency in English and French
- Based in the Ivory Coast or local and able to relocate
