Title: Metals Trader

Location: London, UK

Imperium Commodity Search are working with an international metals trading company headquartered in London, currently looking for experienced and motivated traders with physical books to join their growing operations.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for building a profitable book trading metal products in international markets (Europe, the Americas, Asia, Middle East) sourcing and selling B2B.
  • Focus on building relationships with customers and end users to support increasing the company’s market share in target markets
  • Stay informed of changes and trends in the base metals markets in order to identify new business opportunities and mitigate risk
  • Work closely with operations and logistics teams to ensure a timely and smooth supply chain
  • Prospecting for clients and business development (cold calling, qualifying, building the pipeline of deal)
  • Monitoring and analyzing market performance internationally and communicating it to customers
  • Networking to attract new clients, to build and maintain relationships with existing customers

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience trading refined metal products in the commodity space with a track record of success / positive PnL.
  • Ideal experience is in non-ferrous metals, ferroalloys or steel – must have an existing portfolio / network
  • Degree in Sustainable Finance, Environmental Studies, Mathematics, Business, Commodity Trading preferred
  • Confident, adaptable, builds relationships easily and interacts well under pressure
  • Willing to join a smaller, collaborative team
  • Technical understanding of derivatives and financial derivatives (futures, options, swaps) is a plus
  • Self-starter, must be a motivated salesperson
  • Fluency in English is a must; fluency in other languages will be an added advantage
  • Candidate must hold the full right to live and work in UK without VISA sponsorship
