Title: Metals Trader – Rare Earths or Residues
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive + Bonus
Location: London, UK or Remote
Imperium Commodity Search is working with an international metals trading company headquartered in London, currently looking for experienced and motivated traders with physical books within the Rare Earths or Residues space to join their growing operations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for building a profitable book trading metal products in international markets (Europe, the Americas, Asia, Middle East) sourcing and selling B2B.
- Focus on building relationships with customers and end users to support increasing the company’s market share in target rare earth and residue metal markets
- Stay informed of changes and trends in the base metals markets in order to identify new business opportunities and mitigate risk
- Work closely with operations and logistics teams to ensure a timely and smooth supply chain
- Prospecting for clients and business development (cold calling, qualifying, building the pipeline of deal)
- Monitoring and analyzing market performance internationally and communicating it to customers
- Networking to attract new clients, to build and maintain relationships with existing customers
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience trading Rare Earth Metals or Metal Residue products in the commodity space with a track record of success / positive PnL.
- Degree in Sustainable Finance, Environmental Studies, Mathematics, Business, Commodity Trading preferred
- Confident, adaptable, builds relationships easily and interacts well under pressure
- Willing to join a smaller, collaborative team
- Technical understanding of metals derivatives and financial derivatives (futures, options, swaps) is a plus
- Self-starter, must be a motivated salesperson
- Fluency in English is a must; fluency in other languages will be an added advantage
- Candidate must hold the full right to live and work in UK without VISA sponsorship
