Imperium Commodity Search is partnered with an energy/commodity trading firm and market maker in London seeking to grow out their successful and growing team.  To facilitate the next phase of growth with the business, they are seeking to add an experienced OTC Propane trader with a profitable track record across Market Making and Prop trading.  The successful candidate will work on the LPG/Products team and have a clear route of progression to a senior position in the firm.  In addition to a flat structure, there are a raft of benefits provided by our client to their traders internally that will be open to the trader from day one.

Our client is open to speaking with traders in any energy product with a profitable track record and proven experience in a similar role, looking to dial in on the LPG/Propane market.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Market Making in the OTC Propane space, working with corporate/institutional clients and brokers in the energy markets to ensure profitable books on LPG/Propane
• Execution of OTC (over the counter) trades (electronic and voice) in a timely manner in a liquid/active market
• Proprietary Prop trading idea generation and execution where appropriate; managing a profitable prop book on LPG & Propane products
• Follow and update market analysis/research and keep abreast of changes, volatility and movements
• Capitalise on prop trading opportunities where market sentiment allows/makes profitable business sense to do so
• Work in close liaison with senior figures on the desk on trading idea generation and prop trading/positions
• Act as a market maker to give up execution brokers and counterparties in the space for OTC propane/LPG markets

Requirements:

• 2-5+ years experience in an OTC trading environment with a demonstrable record of P&L across market making and prop trading business
• Excellent knowledge of energy markets, screens, analytics and derivatives trading
• Good understanding of OTC contract structures/market specific exposure
• Desire to work in a dynamic, fast paced and quick growth business
• Experience of coding across VBA, Python, R, C++, C# etc would be beneficial
• Knowledge of modelling and quant skills beneficial
• Proven ability to operate sensibly and profitably in OTC prop trading
• Relevant degree in mathematics, markets, finance or quantitive field preferred
