Job Title:  LNG Risk Analyst (Financial and Physical)

Imperium Commodity Search is working with an energy trading firm in London looking to add an LNG Risk Analyst to the trading desk.  Our client has specialist physical and financial trading teams across energy, power, gas and emissions through European offices.   Our client is looking for a risk analyst who has expert knowledge of both physical and financial trading of LNG products.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the trading team on analysis and reporting of trading positions, risk metrics and strategies including V@R / VaR limits and P&L analysis
  • Relay information to both front office trading teams and senior management
  • Analyse and prepare daily, monthly, quarterly risk reports for the desks trading books across the LNG team
  • Execute VaR stress testing measures and utilise quantitative risk models to identify issues and correct pricing, risk and VaR issues
  • Work with senior management on identifying and improving risk controls and metrics

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years experience working within a trading risk analyst position in an energy trading house or financial trader on an LNG desk
  • Excellent knowledge of LNG (Liquified Natural Gas)
  • Knowledge and understanding of VaR / V@R and MtM risk
  • Settlements/P&L reconciliation experience beneficial
  • Good knowledge of Excel/Quant reporting and VBA advantageous
  • Good IT/Coding knowledge would be a plus
