Title: LNG & JKM Power Broker
Contract type: Permanent
Location: London, Geneva, Singapore, Hong Kong or New York
Salary – Negotiable

Imperium Commodity Search is working alongside a European broker offering brokerage services to institutional clients, looking to grow their operations in Asia through the addition of a senior broker. The broker will liaise with and get support from the team in Hong Kong and London while working independently in Singapore (or based in the London, SG, Hong Kong or NY offices).

Responsibilities:

  • Network within the power and gas sector to create new and strengthen existing contact base within the Asian power market across JKM/LNG
  • Keep good knowledge on current trends and movements in the power/ gas space to provide relevant advice to service institutional clients
  • Travel to meet and entertain clients across Asia to maintain relationships and provide advisory services wherever necessary
  • Regularly speak with the teams in London and Hong Kong to provide updates and progressions
  • Constantly work to build out the company’s Asian presence in the Power and Gas market within LNG
  • Expand futures and options offerings by conferencing, industry events and client meetings

Experience:

  • 4+ years of brokering experience across the gas/power/shipping sector required
  • Good knowledge of the JKM/Japanese Power market (LNG)
  • Previous exposure to utilities and energy providers- either dealing with utilities or selling to utilities
  • Prior experience brokering futures contracts but has good understanding of standard options
  • Sales/ Broker experience non-negotiable
  • Solid relationships in the gas and power space with institutional clients and utilities (must be able to transfer clients)
