Title: Junior Trader (Metals)
Contract type: Permanent
Location: Singapore
Salary – 70-75,000SGD
Imperium Commodity Search is working with a well-known global commodity trader of metal and energy products in Singapore, looking to expand their minerals and metals department by the addition of a junior trader.
Responsibilities:
- Take responsibility for traffic operations and liaise with logistics
- Deal with supply chain procedures including letters of credit, bill of lading, trade finance etc.
- Assist and work side by side senior traders on both operational and commercial tasks to develop trading activity
- Help manage buyer and supplier relationships to ensure all queries are met and deliveries are completed in a timely fashion
- Work with front office teams to develop skills when required
- Network with external counterparties to negotiate the rates and costs of freights
- Develop own network of suppliers across metals and minerals (Tin, Tungsten, Antimony, Magnesium etc.) throughout Asia
Experience:
- Possess 2+ years working in a trading house on metals/ minerals desk
- Have excellent knowledge/ exposure to supply chain procedures
- Have desire to grow own book of minor metals and concentrates across Asia
- Fluent in English, additional language beneficial
- Good understanding of trading operations across metals
