Job Title: Global Head of Soybean / Soybean meal Trading
Contract type: Permanent
Location: Luxembourg Benelux
Salary: Negotiable 

Imperium Commodity Search is working with an international agricultural / agro commodity trading house with an exciting opportunity for a senior soybean meal trading manager to join the team as the new global head of soybean / soybean meal in Luxembourg.  Our client is active across grain commodities, edible oils and oilseeds across Europe, Africa, Middle East, South America and Asia.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the groups soybean meal trading book globally
  • Actively develop relationships with customers across the soybean meal/soybean space.
  • Work closely with internal analysis and operations teams on smooth traffic/logistics
  • Trade soybean meal on a back to back basis, maintaining close relationships with suppliers and customers
  • Assist internal teams on storage, transportation and traffic of soybean product
  • Develop relationships with traders and brokers for timely shipment/export of product where required
  • Actively identify and develop new business opportunities and relationships, driving long term strategy with other senior management figures
  • Manage the futures book for effective hedging/price risk management on soybean desk
  • Work closely with internal sourcing team on origination of soybean meal, relating to analysis and market movements to ensure profitable trades
  • Assist senior management in strategy of new investments, markets and business opportunities
  • Work with risk teams and brokers where required on hedging strategy and market analysis
  • Ability to travel where required to meet suppliers, customers, clients and third party brokers/traders

Requirements:

  • 10+ years’ experience in a senior soybean meal/soybean trading position at a senior/manager level
  • Excellent knowledge of global trade flows of soybean meal
  • INCOTERMS and LC experience with good knowledge of traffic/operations of global soybean meal trading mechanisms
  • Strategic mindset with a genuine desire and evidenced background of growing a desk
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Futures/Risk Management experience essential
  • Fluent in English (additional languages a benefit)
  • Very confident and proactive persona with the desire to build and grow an established business
  • International trading experience on a back to back basis with excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Knowledge of local laws, trading legislation and operations considerations
  • Experience with an asset-backed trading house ideal
