Fantastic opportunity to join one of the most dynamic desks within the ship broking industry with an International footprint combining decades of experience covering the Asian, European and US markets. Our client is currently looking for an experienced forwards broker covering the FFA (Forward Freight Agreements) or similar markets (Coal derivatives, Iron Ore derivatives, Dry Bulk derivatives).

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for broking FFA (Forward Freight Agreements) Hedging books across corporate clients.
  • Global coverage of collaborating and transacting with Iron mills, steel mills, logistics firms, investment companies, banks and funds.
  • Closing deals with international traders, operators, and producers identifying opportunities within iron ore/ freight and coal derivative markets.
  • Advise on hedging strategy, working in coordination with other departments and international desks within the organization across dry/wet freight, iron ore derivatives, coal derivatives and freight markets.
  • Work with the other FFA desks in international offices on global strategy and growth plans for the business

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ broking freight forwards, coal derivatives, iron ore derivatives or similar markets.
  • Established network with relevant banks, funds, trading houses, shipping companies and producers.
  • Exceptional understanding of market risk management, hedging strategies and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of shipping logistics and vessel sizes, Panamax, Supramax and Handysize.
  • Fluent in English (additional languages a benefit)
