Title: Fertilizer Trader

Imperium Commodity Search is working with a recently established fertilizer trading company headquartered in Zurich who are looking to further boost their existing presence within European markets.  This company has operations rooted in six locations globally and are looking for experienced fertilizer traders with existing books within the France & Benelux regions to join the expanding team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a physical book of chemical fertilizer across Nitrogen, Potash, Phosphate and NPK fertilizers
  • Take accountability for PNL across Fertilizer business
  • Market fertilizer products (Nitrogen, Potash, Phosphate and NPK) to end users throughout Benelux / French markets
  • Utilizing industry connections/knowledge to maintain a fertilizer desk across phosphates, nitrogen and potash fertilizer products
  • Build relationships with fertilizer producers and suppliers to manage supply lines/procurement activity across fertilizer products
  • Actively promote the firms products/fertilizer solutions to clients/farms and agro producers across target destinations
  • Work closely with internal logistics and operations teams to facilitate smooth and timely trading routes

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in back to back fertilizer/fertiliser trading (potash, phosphates, nitrogen, specialty, water-soluble fertilizers) in European markets – ideally Benelux and / or France
  • Ideal candidate will have transferable portfolio of business across Fertilizers
  • Good understanding of technical aspects of fertilizer products and their applications with the ability to match these to clients needs
  • Ability to travel, meet and develop business with clients across the domestic/export markets
  • Solid understanding of the global fertilizer landscape including target markets, demand and supply curves etc.
  • Fluency in English necessary, additional European languages beneficial
