Environmentals Sales Trader

Imperium Commodity Search has been retained by a new-to-market environmental trading company with aggressive growth plans over 2021-22 in a number of environmental commodity markets.  Our client is based in Liverpool Street and covers a range of commodity trading, sales trading and brokerage markets within energy, environmental and bio markets.  Key areas of responsibility exist around assisting businesses in the European market with sustainability, carbon neutrality and green energy targets with a range of trading and brokerage products to suit.

For the newly established trading team in London, our client is seeking up to 5 brokers/sales traders covering Guarantees of Origin (GoO/GO’s) amongst other environmental markets linked to carbon credits and neutrality targets.  The team is set to grow significantly over the coming months and the current opportunity is one for a junior-mid level broker looking to enter an aggressively growing business in the early stages, growing with the company both financially and in seniority.

Comparative to many environmental focused brokers, our client offers a revenue split commissions model over base with uncapped OTE earnings

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Drive business development in your geographical region across emissions, environmental and Guarantees of Origin (GO’s)
• Business development and sales focused onboarding of clients with an interest in carbon and emissions trading/sustainability around carbon neutrality
• Manage brokerage across assigned environmental commodity market
• Trade own book of Guarantees of Origin/GO’s (OTC basis)
• Ensure strong margins and competitiveness within a growing environmental commodity marketplace

Requirements:

• 2+ years’ experience in a brokerage or sales trading role within the energy/environmental commodities space
• Excellent business development and sales ability with clear and strong communication
• Fluent in English (additional languages are beneficial, particularly European languages [French, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, Czech, Slovakian, Hungarian, Italian, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Russian, German, Austrian, Belgian, Polish etc.])
• Commercially driven with a desire to build a personal book of clients in the environmental commodities space
• Good understanding of the environmental commodity markets, particularly across carbon, emissions, EUA’s and/or GO’s (Guarantees of Origin)
• Based in, or able to relocate to, London, UK
