Imperium Commodity Search is working with a leading multinational commodity brokerage seeking to grow their OTC & Listed energy brokerage team in KC through the addition of an energy derivatives broker to cover the mid-tier corporate/commercial energy client sector.  With huge cross sell and upsell opportunity, our client has an incredibly wide remit of product offerings across both OTC and listed structures; the successful candidate being able to take a split on OTC and Listed execution as well as consulting and risk management advisory income/revenues. 

The position requires a portfolio of clients/current execution business exceeding 500,000USD per annum with the view to the opportunity increasing this revenue through value-add and cross selling of additional products and services

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Transition client book into the business for OTC &/or Listed execution, increasing product offering through upsell opportunities
• Execution of trades across the energy space (oil, petroleum products, light ends, naphtha, ethanol, crude, renewables, emissions, RINs, LPG, NGL, LNG etc.) in the US, Canadian and LatAm markets
• Maintain strong commercial relationships with mid-tier corporate clients in the energy space across trading houses, producers, end users and distributors/refineries
• Analysing relevant energy complex and providing in depth market insight to clients for idea generation and to capitalise on flow/increase execution revenues
• Work with internal teams for cross/upselling of value add services to drive revenues
• Consult clients on risk management and hedging in the oil & gas market across corporate clients (traders, refineries, distributors, producers etc.)
• Liaise with foreign offices where applicable in Europe/Asia
• Actively drive business development/sales to onboard new clients and drive flow in the energy space

Requirements:

• 3+ years in an energy execution brokerage/hedging or risk management brokerage position covering energy clients
• Transferable portfolio of business exceeding 500,000USD in annual revenues across OTC and/or Listed execution
• Excellent knowledge of price risk management tools, analysis and advisory
• Good coverage of the corporate energy space across any energy market/cross commodity
• Sales driven with the desire to nurture a desk in a well respected and fast growing financial institution
• Based in Kansas City or able to relocate (potential to sit in another location dependant on headcount/product focus)
