Title: Derivatives Operations Officer – Agricultural and Energy Brokerage
Contract type: Permanent
Location: London, UK
Salary: in region of 35-45,000GBP
Imperium Commodity Search is retained by a specialist soft and agricultural commodity brokerage in London with a rapidly growing options business in a number of derivatives & asset classes. Providing best-in-class options execution, clearing and brokerage services to the soft commodity and agricultural markets, our client has recently seen exponential growth in their client base with access to market-leading clearing, execution and credit facilities. As their front office grows, an urgent need has arisen for a derivatives operator to support the brokerage team on trade administration, reconciliation and data management.
NOTE: For commercially minded candidates, there is an opportunity to transition from the operations role into a front office/brokreage position after an initial stint in a middle office/operations position.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage the creation and administration of broker contracts and agreements in the energy & soft and agricultural brokerage markets (primarily options)
- Collate and prepare data on internal systems pertaining to client details, trades, communications and contracts as required
- Assist in record keeping and audit tasks for commodity brokerage desk
- Manage administration for front office on the energy and agri desks, providing ad-hoc trade support/assistant duties as required
- Act in a client-facing manner where required, offering operational support and assistance
- Enter and update trades in internal software system
- Assist in ad-hoc administrative and operational tasks where required for brokers on the options desk
Requirements:
- 1-2+ years’ in a like role; within a brokerage or derivatives/futures trading house managing operations and administrative tasks/trade support or operations duties
- Good understanding of derivatives (futures/options)
- Proficient with software, trading platforms and trade administration
- Excellent proactivity and pace of work with a keen interest in the fast-paced brokerage and commodity sales environment
