Title: Biofuels Broker (New Project)

Imperium Commodity Search is working exclusively with an established brokerage growing out their energy presence in multiple products.  Due to the growth of the biofuels markets, the need has arisen to research and implement a biofuels brokerage desk (futures/options execution).   As this is a new area, the role will be working closely with the Director of Energy on the initial research phase and implementation of the biofuels brokerage product offering of the firm.  Our client has established desks across other energy products.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and develop business for potential futures/options execution brokerage services to the European biofuel market
  • Execute futures/options trades on relevant exchange on behalf of trading houses, end users, producers and processors of biofuel (ethanol, biodiesel, green diesel and biogas)
  • Work with Energy Director on the wider growth of the desk across energy products
  • Stay informed and up to date on biofuel market analysis, news and industry updates
  • Keep clients informed of market movements and risk factors/trading advisory

Experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience in energy brokerage (ideally options)
  • Good knowledge/understanding of the biofuels (ethanol, biodiesel, biogas etc.) markets
  • Desire to grow a new desk/build out as one of the first in the market to offer products to that group
  • Good understanding of exchange processes/listed derivatives
  • Fluent in English (additional languages beneficial, French, German etc.)
