Through sustained growth across a number of specialist recycling markets, the firm is looking to grow into the battery materials/specialist metals trading markets.
With an aggressively entrepreneurial spirit, our client is seeking to rock the boat of the traditional ‘discretionary’ model of the antiquated trading house by offering aggressive financing and a true PnL split to her traders. With a focus on the costly, higher margin battery metals segment, the opportunity for an experienced battery materials or metal trader to earn substantially more from their profitable trading network is a big one. With a flat structure and an intense culture of support and shared success, you will be surrounded by likeminded individuals and a longstanding staff.

Responsibilities:
- Purchase and sales (back to back trade) or battery metals and battery materials (Nickel Sulphate, Cobalt Sulphate and Lithium Carbonate)
- Maintain and improve relationships with suppliers and mines globally extracting battery metals and materials
- Foster and grow a portfolio of end users (battery manufacturers/EV companies) to increase flows across the battery materials trading desk
- Continue to build a metals trading desk for the firm, hiring and training a growing team of metals/battery materials traders as the desk grows
- Keep up to date with relevant EV (electric vehicle) and battery materials industry news/events and market movements to ensure timely and profitable trading flows
Experience:
- 3-5+ years’ experience trading battery materials/metals on a back to back basis
- Excellent network of mines/suppliers of raw materials/battery metals
- Network of buyers/end users in the battery manufacturing and EV space
- Deep understanding of the market forces around battery metals and materials (cobalt, lithium, nickel)
- Ability to work and thrive in a high paced and high pressure environment
- Profitable and consistent trading track record in the battery materials markets
- Set up to work remotely and travel as required
