Job Title: Aluminium Scrap Purchaser / Sourcing Agent
Contract type: Permanent

Salary: Negotiable

Imperium Commodity Search is working with an international scrap/refined base metal trading house with offices in London and Geneva, looking to add a scrap aluminium (aluminum) sourcing/purchaser to the team in London.  Our client has recently expanded their physical assets on the ground in the UK market and as such the opportunity to add a purchaser to the team on scrap aluminium has opened up.  This role suits a candidate with a strong network for the sourcing of secondary aluminium products/scrap metal from the UK market.  For the right candidate, remote working may be considered.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Actively seek and source avenues for the purchase of aluminium/aluminum scrap
  • Expand the brand/name of our client in the domestic UK/British scrap aluminium market
  • Work with internal sales and operations team for the smooth logistics/traffic operations of scrap aluminium / scrap metal
  • Assist the firms trading/processing units in the UK on requirements and sourcing correct quantities and grades of scrap to meet sales side demand
  • Keep up to date with market analysis, news and industry research pieces to identify purchase options in the aluminium scrap market
  • Purchase other base metal (copper, zinc, lead, tin etc.) scraps where required

Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience in an aluminium scrap sourcing role
  • Strong network of aluminium scrap suppliers in the UK/British Market
  • Strong analytical and business development skills
  • Travel where required
  • Experience working with a similar structure of business
