Job Title: Grain / Agricultural Physical Broker

Imperium Commodity Search is working with a leading international brokerage looking to grow their physical cash brokerage desk in APAC with the addition of a physical grains/agro broker in the Singapore office.  Our client is a global powerhouse on soft and agricultural commodity brokerage and has one of the best names in the market with clients across the grains and agri (wheat, corn, rice, sorghum, canola, oilseeds, livestock, dairy, feed, animal feed, cotton, sugar, cocoa, coffee, cottonseed, crush etc.) space.

This opportunity would suit an experienced trader (back to back) or broker with a good network in the grains space across suppliers, producers and end users/processors.  Our client offers a range of services and products across physical and futures business and there is a huge opportunity to upsell to client base.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Actively develop a book of business within the Singapore/APAC markets grain space with physical trading, processing and production companies in the regio n
• Meet with clients in the grains trading arena across wheat, corn, soybean, oilseeds, crush, feed, animal feed etc. to onboard and manage cash/physical execution
• Offer timely execution service to physical grain participants
• Work with internal teams on cross-sell and upsell of products across physical, advisory, analysis and managed futures/options business
• Attend industry conferences and events where required
• Provide, produce and distribute market analysis and advisory material pertinent to the grains markets across APAC to clients and use this as a business development/revenue generation tool
• Develop and grow a personal desk/revenue stream of clients in the grains space, driving PnL and revenue growth
• Work with senior management on new products/geographies and client services
• Assist futures/derivatives clearing and execution team on developing and identifying upsell opportunity to the firms managed futures platform

Requirements:

• 5+ Years’ experience in a cash grains brokerage or back to back trading role within an agricultural or agrocommodity trading house
• Good network of grain market participants in Singapore, Middle East, APAC markets
• Excellent sales/relationship building acumen
• Proven ability to build revenue streams/PnL on a desk
• Good analytical and presentation skills
• Fluent in English (Mandarin beneficial)
