Imperium Commodity Search is proud to be working with a global commodity trading house on an exclusive basis for the position of agri / agro commodity trader. Our client has seen success in building sourcing/storage facilities across Asia and Africa and is looking to build out the sales trading team further through the addition of a sales focused trader covering agricultural commodities in the target regions (India, Dubai, Nigeria etc.). Unlike many trading houses, our client has a strong interest and set up in the physical business and maintains processing, storage and production facilities across India, Benin and Nigeria. With a global team of over 100 staff on the ground, this opportunity suits a trader who has strong connections on the sales side and can rely on a strong in-house team to source, produce and deliver products globally, keeping margins competitive.

Responsibilities:
- Market and sell agriproducts (Soybean Meal, Rapeseed Meal, Rice, Soybean, Cashews, Cotton Seed) within target markets (primarily Africa and Asia)
- Work closely with sourcing/processing teams internally on quantities and logistics of required product
- Actively build relationships with manufacturers, processors and end-users of the relevant agri / grain products for trading/sales
- Stay up to date on market analysis, commentary and news to capitalise on trading opportunities
- Work closely with senior management on new trading lines, routes and opportunities
- Assist logistics team in processing and shipment of trades/deliveries
- Sell agro-products directly into processors/end users. There is no trader to trader sales in this role, it is purely focused on sales into end-users and processors
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in a like position, working on the sales side of trading agricultural commodities
- Excellent knowledge of agricultural / grain product trading
- Strong understanding of soybean meal, rapeseed meal, soybean, cashews and cottonseed ideal
- Proven track record in an agricultural trading house
- Understanding of shipping/logistics of grain and agricultural products
- Located in London, Dubai, Mumbai or Singapore (or able to relocate with relevant pass/visa)
