Imperium Commodity Search is working with an international Agricultural and Soft Commodity trading company based in Singapore, looking to add a Corporate Finance Manager to their team in Ivory Coast. Our client is looking for someone with a banking background that is familiar with local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the corporate finance function for the Ivory Coast segment of the trading business, working in a small team and being the point of contact for all local financing and banking requirements, particularly sourcing investment and corporate finance
• Analyse the financial position of the unit and soft commodity/agri trading desk, using quantitative analysis and financial analysis techniques
• Support the front office and senior management on new acquisitions and business development, ensuring financial flows are in line with trading requirements
• Deal with local authorities on financial, tax and loan legislation and requirements
• Prepare and execute legal and financial documentation and liaise with banks and external corporate finance counterparts
• Meet with banking partners and financiers when required, building and maintaining relationships across banking and finance
• Carry out relevant due diligence on transactions and deal structuring, ensuring compliance with internal company policy, that of banking partners and local Ivorian law
• Work with the head office in Singapore on local finance related matters specific to the Ivory Coast / Côte d’Ivoire operation
• Work with senior management on contract proposals and act as a sounding board for any incoming contracts/agreements to the desk, ensuring strict compliance and favourable terms for the business

Experience:

• Must have 5 plus years experience working in a banking environment at a senior level, ideally with exposure to commodity trading desks as clients or counterparts
• Have strong background within a finance position at an SME with good knowledge of contract and financial regulations/law
• Possess good understanding of local trading and financial laws in Ivory Coast / Côte d’Ivoire
• Experience working in Corporate finance, dealing with sourcing funds, capital structuring and investments
• Good knowledge of banking partnerships, loans and investments with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships in the space
• Exposure to a trading environment is beneficial with an understanding of trade finance and commodity trading operations
• Fluent in English
